The Planned Giving Center^SM*of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan exists to help individuals in the region make planned gifts. The Center provides technical assistance, information and support to donors, their professional advisors and representatives of area nonprofit organizations as they explore and complete planned gifts.

Center services are available to individuals, professional advisors, corporations and nonprofit organizations located in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, St. Clair and Livingston counties.

Personal Consultation

Our professional staff is available to consult with interested parties about the full range of planned giving opportunities. The following assistance is available:

• Phone consultation
• In-person consultation
• Meeting facilities and assistance for donors and their professional advisors
• Illustrations of gift scenarios
• Referrals to other services (such as area estate-planning professionals, the Planned Giving Roundtable of Southeast Michigan, the American Council on Gift Annuities, the National Committee on Planned Giving, etc.).

Online Assistance

One of the services of the Planned Giving Center^SM is an innovative Web site called the Planned Giving Design Center* (www.pgdc.com/usa/). This online service is made available free of charge to provide up-to-date information on charitable giving. The Planned Giving Design Center Web site provides:

• A searchable database of articles, Internal Revenue Service documents and other current information on various charitable and planned giving matters
• A thorough resource of information on how to make gifts of different kinds of assets and gift techniques
• Gift illustrations
• Receiving notifications of tax and legal changes related to charitable gift planning
• Downloading planned gift form documents.

Reference Library

The Planned Giving Center^SM reference library contains books, periodicals, audiotapes and other materials. These materials cover the various aspects of planned giving, including marketing, gift management, Internal Revenue Service compliance, accounting, tracking, technology and reporting. Please contact us for additional information about these materials.

Fees

Most services offered by the Planned Giving Center^SM are provided at no charge. For requests that require a significant allocation of resources, nominal fees may be charged.
