Welcome to the media center of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. This site is designed to provide you with the latest news and information on the impact that the Community Foundation is making throughout the region.   • Fact Sheet

    The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan was founded in 1984 as a permanent community endowment, built with gifts from hundreds of individuals and organizations committed to a strong future for southeast Michigan. Since its founding 25 years ago, the Community Foundation has distributed more than $333 million in more than 32,000 grants to charitable projects in southeast Michigan's seven-county area. Dedicated to strengthening the quality of life throughout southeast Michigan, the Community Foundation works to encourage charitable giving in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Washtenaw, St. Clair and Monroe counties.

    The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan welcomes the use of its photos for news reports and other non-commercial, or not-for-profit purposes. If you would like to receive a photo that appears on our Web site for use in the media, Web or other publications, please send your request with a link to the page where the photo(s) appear and the anticipated use or placement to the Communications department.

    For several years now, the Community Foundation has had a wonderful partnership with WWJ NewsRadio 950 AM to highlight individuals who are making a difference in the local community each week. Do you know someone who spends their time and/or resources helping others? If so, help them share their story by nominating them as an individual "Making a Difference in Southeast Michigan."
