Detroit – The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan will develop a digital information hub to inform and mobilize residents to be good stewards of the region’s land and natural resources and promote communities that are more livable.

Support for the “GreenSpace” project comes from a recent grant of $352,000 awarded to the Community Foundation from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, as part of its Knight Community Information Challenge.

Detroit, MI — The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan (www.cfsem.org) today awarded grants totaling $125,000 to 50 nonprofit organizations that serve people with disabilities throughout the region.

Detroit, MI – The New Economy Initiative (NEI) today announced a first wave of $11 million in grants to organizations driving economic change in southeast Michigan.

“In the face of this terrible economic crisis, NEI is dedicated to helping our community respond and look forward,” said Steve Hamp, chair of the NEI governing council. “We want the community to know NEI is working to help lay the building blocks for economic renewal.”

Detroit - The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, with support from the Detroit Auto Dealers Association Charitable Foundation Fund, awarded five grants, totaling $240,000, to organizations that provide services to youth in the region. 

Programs and organizations that received recent grants include:

• Communities in Schools of Detroit Inc., Detroit, $50,000, for support for after-school enrichment programming in Mount Clemens
• Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program, Detroit, $50,000, for support for science and technology enrich
